Spencer Irby
Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources
Originally from Moriah, North Carolina, Spencer Irby, grew up on a flue cured tobacco and hay farm. Immediatley after graduating from Ferrum College, Spencer accepted an internship with Virginia Cooperative Extension in Franklin County, Virginia. Following the internship, Spencer began work at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center located in Blackstone, Virginia. For the next six years Spencer worked in both the Plant Pathology and Tobacco Agronomy programs located at the Research Station. Through his work with these programs, Spencer was able to work closely with producers across the state of Virginia. Spencer looks forward to working with the residents of Lunenburg County as the new ANR Extension Agent.
